Product Description
We are the official training provider for LaserCAM Orthotics.
This is our recommended introductory course for individuals wishing to design foot orthoses for additive manufacture.
This course will cover all of the basics of computer-aided design (CAD) for custom foot orthoses using LaserCAM Orthotics software.
This course is designed for health care professionals and orthotic technicians, however there is no pre-requisite knowledge.
Prerequisites
✔ A PC with an active internet connection
✔ Mouse with middle click
✔ No pre-requisite knowledge CAD experience
What you'll learn
✔ The basics of digital prescription using LaserCAM Prescribe
✔ How to import 3D scans and perform basic measurement operations to prepare for 3D modelling
✔ How to generate a 3D models that are 3D print ready
✔ Master the basic controls of digital orthosis adjustment
✔ Apply plantar fascia accommodations
✔ Accommodate high pressure areas using CAD
✔ Use digital sculpting and merging operations to generate highly anatomical orthosis models
✔ Implement rearfoot and forefoot posting in your orthosis models
✔ How to apply heel skives to orthoses using 3D colour reference of the subtalar joint axis
✔ Apply engravings and serial numbers to the plantar surface of orthosis models
✔ Understand how to integrate plantar modifications to increase/decrease stiffness of orthosis models
✔ How to submit 3D models to a third-party 3D printing service in your region
How is this training provided?
Our training is provided through our virtual training lab. All attendees are provided with a link to connect, from which you will have your own virtual PC with all software installed and ready to go. Your instructor will be connected to your training machine and all attendees. This makes getting started incredibly easy, without the need to install any software on your PC.
Do I need a powerful PC?
Our virtual training lab provides all the power you require. All you need is an internet connection.
How long is the course?
Our introductory course is 3 hours in length.
Who provides this training?
The instructor for this training course is Konrad Job. Konrad is a Podiatrist and with over ten years of computer-aided design and orthotic manufacturing experience. He has worked with leading laboratories and Universities in helping to integrate computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing systems for additive and subtractive manufacture.
Can I book in a group training session?
